Dryer vents should be cleaned on an annual basis. This is especially important in multi-family communities that have connected units. Removing lint, bird’s nests, and making sure the exterior termination is clear, are important for a properly functioning dryer vent. Clogged dryer vents not only cause a fire hazard, but also can create water damage and can burn out the heating element of the dryer.
Dryer Vent Cleaning Includes:
- External dryer vent cleaning from the building exterior to the back of the dryer
- Mid/high rise units may need to be cleaned internally
- Cleaning is done with a compressed air machine, air hoses, and a reverse flow nozzle
- When applicable, the external vent louvers will be checked to make sure they are in proper working order
- Debris will be picked up and disposed of by crew
- Any needed repairs will be noted and reported to Management
